- Took the train from Avignon to Nimes, where we walked through the city to the "Square House" (La Maison Carree), which was unfortunately under construction. The house dates back to Roman times, with lots of rebuilding over the decades. From there we walked up through a park with views over the city, then down past a waterway and wandered through the city toward the train station and back to Avignon. Stopped at the store and bought pasta, coffee, etc. Had the pasta for dinner, then walked to Place de l'Horloge for a glace for dessert. Had a little rain which didn't cool things off much.
- Overnight - heavy reain with thunder/lightning (maybe hail). Standing water on floor of apt. in AM, spent some time cleaning and drying everything.
